The Diabolo Lamp collection from Studio Rowa, a Japanese company of light designers, was inspired by an ancient juggling device known as the Devil. This oriental toy rotates, whirls, and is thrown into the air before being caught again with a rope attached to the tips of two sticks. The lamps take their name and inspiration from this device, consisting of two “shells” combined in an hourglass shape and supported by a belt.
Each element of this lamp collection is carefully and exclusively made and assembled by hand. The flying part of the diabolo lamp consists of two concave elements connected to each other, creating a beautiful fusion of art and design. Inspired by an ancient skillful activity, these lamps are sure to add a unique touch to any room.
