Kajima Corporation Leads the Way in Sustainable Construction with Osaka Dome Project

Kajima Corporation is making waves in the construction industry with its recent announcement of a significant reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions for the construction of a concrete dome for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. The company will use a type of low-carbon concrete that reduces emissions by 70% compared to conventional construction methods.

The dome, set to be built in the West Gate Zone of the expo venue, will serve as an exhibition space on environmental education. With a height of 5.45 meters and an oval shape with a diameter of 23 by 18 meters, it’s sure to make an impact on visitors.

Construction is set to commence in April and be completed in November 2024. By utilizing low-carbon concrete along with a technology that absorbs CO2 during manufacturing, Kajima anticipates achieving a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions.
