Jack Currie, who made 45 appearances for AFC Wimbledon in the 2023-24 season, has officially signed with Oxford United on a long-term deal for an undisclosed fee. The left-back contributed a goal and an assist as AFC Wimbledon finished 10th in League Two.
Head coach Des Buckingham expressed his excitement about Currie joining the team, noting that he fits perfectly into their style of play and brings a wealth of experience in league football. He believes Currie will have a positive impact on the current group and help continue to develop the team’s culture and environment.
Oxford United’s Head of Recruitment Ed Waldron described Currie as an “exciting full-back” and revealed that the club had been monitoring him for some time. The upcoming season will see Oxford United competing in the second tier of English football for the first time in 25 years, following their victory over Bolton in the League One play-off final in May.
