LinkedIn’s New Video Feature Channels TikTok-Style Content for Job Seekers

LinkedIn is currently testing a new feature that allows users to view short videos in a TikTok-style format. These videos will be displayed in the feed and can be accessed through a new tab on the main interface of the platform. The platform has four main sections: ‘Home’, ‘My network’, ‘Messages’, ‘Jobs’ and ‘Notifications’ followed by the user account settings.

The job search platform is experimenting with a new section that showcases videos in a short format similar to TikTok. This feature was confirmed by Austin Null, the strategy director of the McKinney agency, through the mobile application. Users will be able to access and view vertically formatted videos through scrolling in the new ‘feed’ section, which will be available in the navigation bar with an added ‘Video’ tab.

LinkedIn has acknowledged the growing popularity of videos among users as a preferred format for learning from professionals and experts. However, specific details about how it selects videos to display in users’ feeds have not been shared by the company yet.
