The lithium boom driven by the electromobility industry is creating a demand for new job profiles in the mining sector. In Argentina, this year, there are some positions with the highest demand including industrial, electromechanical and chemical engineers, geologists, graduates in environmental studies, project managers, occupational health and safety specialists, probe controllers and technicians in various areas. According to Randstad management experts, these nine key job profiles are crucial for the efficient extraction, processing and sustainability of lithium mining projects.
Argentina is one of the countries that make up the “lithium triangle” along with Bolivia and Chile. These countries together have 46% of the world’s lithium reserves as per the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The boom in lithium mining in Argentina is significantly impacting employment opportunities with over 50 lithium mining projects currently underway in provinces such as Salta, Jujuy and Catamarca.
Randstad management experts highlight that there is an increasing demand for specialized professionals and technicians as lithium mining projects evolve. This reflects their impact on the Argentine economy which is projected to see significant growth in labor demand by 2024.
