Man Sentenced to Prison for Carrying Replica of Link’s Master Sword in Public with Real Blade

In Warwickshire, England, a man was recently arrested for publicly carrying a replica of Link’s Master Sword from the video game “The Legend of Zelda” with a real blade. Anthony Bray, who hails from Nuneaton, was sentenced to four months in prison for his actions on June 8th.

According to a police report, officers spotted Bray walking down the street with the Master Sword in hand. However, this wasn’t just a toy – the sword was slightly larger than a knife and had a real blade. It is illegal to carry such an item in public under U.K. law.

Bray explained to officers that he had purchased the replica sword online as a stress reliever and had no intention of using it as a weapon. However, simply carrying a blade in public was still in violation of the law. The Warwickshire Police Sergeant stated that it is important to be mindful of local laws and regulations when carrying objects in public spaces, adding that there are plenty of stress toys available that don’t involve six-inch blades or walking down the street with them in plain sight.

In addition to his prison sentence, Bray was also fined £154 (around €180). This incident serves as a reminder that even seemingly harmless activities can have serious consequences when they violate local laws and regulations.
