Southampton has received a significant boost as Manchester City has decided to sign defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis on a permanent basis for £20m, following their recent promotion to the Premier League. The 22-year-old defender joined Russell Martin’s team in September and has played in 46 matches for the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Harwood-Bellis expressed his excitement about the permanent move, saying, “I’m over the moon. It had a massive edge to it knowing that I’m staying here permanently from Manchester City, my current parent club.” He went on to praise Southampton, calling it a special football club with amazing fans who have supported the team through tough times and good times. Reflecting on their recent success, he mentioned, “We did it for them today. I can’t describe how I feel about this year.”
Southampton fans will be thrilled to hear the news of Harwood-Bellis’ permanent move as they prepare for their return to the Premier League. The player’s enthusiasm for the club and gratitude towards the fans will surely endear him to the supporters as he looks forward to continuing his career with the team.
