Deji Oshilaja, a talented midfielder who can also play in defense, has signed a two-year deal with Mansfield Town, a League One team. This move comes after his release from Burton Albion, where he scored 12 goals in 133 appearances over three seasons. Oshilaja has mainly played in League One throughout his career, previously featuring for Charlton Athletic, AFC Wimbledon, and Gillingham.
The 31-year-old is the fourth new addition to join Mansfield Town since their promotion. Manager Nigel Clough has brought in Oshilaja along with Australia midfielder Keanu Baccus, full-back Frazer Blake-Tracy, and striker Lee Gregory. Oshilaja expressed his excitement about Clough’s plans for him and the team, stating, “I feel that’s someone I want to play for.” The manager has a clear plan for me in terms of what he wants me to bring to the team so that’s exciting.”
Oshilaja’s arrival at Mansfield Town will be highly anticipated by fans as he joins an exciting squad that includes the likes of Tyler Walker and Jordan Smith. The club is currently sitting eighth in the table and will look to continue their impressive form as they aim for promotion back into the Championship. With Oshilaja on board, Mansfield Town will have even more depth in their midfield and defense positions.
