In Maple Grove, the former gravel mining area has seen significant development with plans to expand a proposed building in the Arbor Lakes Business Park. The Maple Grove City Council approved an amendment this week to allow for the construction of a 198,000-square-foot building, larger than the original proposal of 158,000 square feet.
Endeavor Development, based in Edina, is leading the project. The new building would be the ninth addition to the Arbor Lakes Business Park, with the specific user yet to be determined. The larger size of the building is seen as meeting market demands and is expected to create more job opportunities in the area.
The project would be located west of the Boston Scientific building that is currently being constructed by Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos., which will house up to 1,600 employees. While the start date for construction is uncertain, it is anticipated to begin by next spring.
The expansion of the business park reflects the growth and development happening in Maple Grove, with companies showing interest in the area as a hub for business activity. Endeavor Development’s plans for the new building align with the city’s vision for economic growth and job creation.
