Medina, Ohio, is joining the nationwide movement to promote local businesses during Small Business Saturday on November 25. This event, founded by American Express in 2010, aims to help small businesses across the country thrive and draw in more customers. In Medina, over 90% of the business district storefronts are filled with local, independent retail shops, boutiques, restaurants and pubs and a wide range of services.

To celebrate Small Business Saturday in Medina, a table will be set up in the Huntington Bank lobby located at 39 Public Square from 11 am to noon with “Shop Small” handouts and information about Medina’s small business community. Santa Claus will also be visiting Wichert Insurance at 119 N. Court St. from noon to 2 pm to spread holiday cheer and support local businesses.

Main Street Medina Executive Director George Sam encourages everyone to shop locally during this holiday season by supporting the city’s small businesses. “Small businesses are the backbone of our community,” said Sam. “By shopping locally, we can help these businesses succeed and keep our community vibrant and diverse.”
