Lionel Messi shines in MLS game, scoring two goals and an assist in Inter Miami’s 3-1 win against Nashville SC

Since joining Inter Miami last July, Lionel Messi has been a standout player in the MLS. He has made multiple goal contributions in five of the season’s first six games, becoming the first player to do so in the league. Messi’s brilliance has transformed Miami’s performance, leading to their first trophy last August and securing a top spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

On Saturday, Messi scored two goals and assisted Sergio Busquet in Inter Miami’s 3-1 victory over Nashville SC. Despite Nashville taking an early lead, Messi equalized for Miami less than 10 minutes later with a goal after an impressive run. Joined by Luis Suárez in December, the two have formed a strong attacking partnership, scoring a total of 17 goals in competitions this season.

In addition to scoring goals, Messi provided an assist for Busquet, who netted Miami’s second goal just before halftime. Busquet expressed his gratitude for Messi’s presence and contributions on and off the field. The crowd was drawn large due to Messi’s presence and set a record for home attendance at Chase Field on Saturday.

Messi confirmed Miami’s win by converting a penalty in the 80th minute, sealing the victory with a final score of 3-1 that Nashville could not overturn.
