Over the past few years, Spanish companies have increasingly chosen Mexico as their preferred destination for investment in Latin America. According to a report by IE University, over 82 percent of Iberian companies with interests in the region have a presence in Mexico. They view Mexico as an ideal location to develop their projects due to factors such as political stability and the strength of the peso.
A survey of business leaders from 50 companies shows that Mexico consistently ranks highest in terms of economic outlook and stability for the future, compared to other countries in the region. Despite some concerns about insecurity, Spanish companies see Mexico as a promising investment destination, driven by macroeconomic stability, market evolution, and political stability. The country’s economic growth is expected to outperform many other countries in the region, making it a preferred choice for expanding business operations.
Spanish businessman Alfonso Benavides, a member of the Board of Directors of Auxadi, highlights Latin America as a prime destination for investors from Spain, America, and Europe. He notes that despite challenges such as inflation and political risk, Spanish companies continue to see Mexico as a key market for growth. The report emphasizes that Mexico City has been the preferred destination for Spanish companies for several years, indicating a strong interest in expanding operations in the region. Overall, Spain’s business community views Mexico as a stable and promising market for investment opportunities.
