USC misses out on recruiting four-star receiver Jayvan Boggs

Missouri has gained a valuable addition to its football program with the commitment of Jayvan Boggs, a talented four-star wide receiver from Cocoa, Florida. On the Fourth of July, Boggs announced his decision to join the Tigers on the Rivals Instagram page, showcasing his excitement for the upcoming season.

According to Andrew Ivins, director of scouting at 247Sports, Boggs has the potential to be a multi-year starter in a Power Four conference. His skill set and readiness make him an asset to any team he joins. The impressive junior season of Boggs earned him a spot on the 2023 MaxPreps High School Football Junior All-America Team and national and all-state recognition for his outstanding performance.

Despite receiving offers from over two dozen schools including UCF, USC, Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame among others, Boggs ultimately chose Missouri. He canceled scheduled official visits to Georgia and USC in favor of becoming a Missouri Tiger and solidifying his commitment to the team.

The recent recruitment battle between USC and Missouri for a wide receiver was won by USC with Corey Simms but Boggs’ decision to join Missouri was celebrated by both the team and its fans. With this commitment, Missouri gains firepower for its 2025 class as it becomes the sixth four-star commit under head coach Eli Drinkwitz.
