In a dominant 13-0 win over Bucktail, Muncy captured their second consecutive Mid-Penn championship. Senior pitcher Nolah Moyer and catcher Taylor Shannon led the way, with Moyer throwing a one-hit shutout and going 3 for 3 at the plate, including a homerun and five RBIs. Shannon also had an impressive day, going 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs.
Moyer quickly put Muncy on the board with a two-run home run in the first inning, followed by adding two more RBIs with a bases loaded single in the second inning. Shannon then hit a three-run home run to make it 8-0 in favor of Muncy. Both Moyer and Shannon finished with five RBIs each as Muncy cruised to victory.
Despite breaking up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning with a hit, Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun couldn’t stop Muncy from securing another league title. Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry contributed with doubles for Bucktail, with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was Muncy 13, Bucktail 0 in five innings.
Moyer picked up the win on the mound while Wagner took the loss for Bucktail. With their next game against Mifflinburg, Muncy remains undefeated and looks forward to continuing their winning streak.
