Mustangs Resilience: Midland Valley Defeats Easley in AAAA Elimination Game

Midland Valley’s softball team took the field on Wednesday night in a Class AAAA elimination game against Easley with a lot of frustration. It wasn’t so much because their season was at stake, but more so because they had to wait an extra night to play due to a storm the previous day. The delayed game fueled their determination as they faced Easley in what became a pivotal match-up for the team.

The Mustangs made sure to demonstrate their readiness to play and win. Their impressive 5-0 victory over Easley extended their season for at least one more night. The win set them up to face Airport in another important game scheduled for the following evening. Coach Katie Anderson praised the team’s attitude, noting that they were not ready to back down and were eager to continue competing.

Midland Valley quickly took control of the game, scoring four runs in the first two innings. The strong offensive performance, coupled with excellent pitching and defense, helped secure their win. Pitchers Karley Bedenbaugh and Larue Hicks were outstanding on the mound, supported by a solid defensive effort from the team. The Mustangs’ defense proved to be impenetrable for Easley, allowing only one hit throughout the game.

On offense, Midland Valley dominated with 10 hits. Bailey Seabolt stood out with a perfect 4-for-4 at-bat, showcasing her skills with a double, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Other players like Haley Thornsberry, Addison Haltiwanger, Jordan Nelson, and Anslee Heath also contributed with hits and RBIs. The team’s resilient performance in the face of elimination was evident as they rallied back from setbacks to secure crucial victories.
