The Fred Kiesner Center for Entrepreneurship at Loyola Marymount University is hosting its second quarterly Family Business Forum on June 28, 2024, at LMU’s Playa Vista Campus. The theme of the event is “Navigating Performance, Accountability, and Culture” in family businesses.
Family businesses are a crucial part of the U.S. economy, contributing to 64% of the GDP. To support these businesses, the Kiesner Center offers its Family Business Entrepreneurship Program. This program helps family enterprises innovate and succeed, ultimately benefiting families, businesses, and communities.
Dr. David Choi, the Conrad N. Hilton Chair of Entrepreneurship and director of the Fred Kiesner Center, emphasized the importance of professionalizing and strengthening family businesses during his keynote address at the forum’s first iteration in March 2024. The upcoming event will delve into obtaining objective guidance, recruiting top talent, and creating a positive organizational culture to help family businesses thrive.
The panelists for this event include Andres Terech, Dennis Parnagian, RJ Mayer, Bill Stranberg, and Brittany Aldredge who will share their expertise on building effective advisory boards and recruiting talented managers while fostering a strong family-business culture. This forum aims to provide a platform for networking opportunities and learning from experts in the field as well as other successful family-owned businesses.
The first quarterly forum attracted around 70 participants mostly from family business backgrounds. However with this new event promising to be educational offering valuable insights on how to navigate performance accountability and culture in family businesses while connecting with like-minded individuals it is sure to attract an even larger crowd.
