The Golden State Warriors have recently filled two openings on their coaching staff, with veteran coach Terry Stotts and former NBA All-Star player Jerry Stackhouse joining the team. Stotts, 66, brings 13 years of head coaching experience to the table, having most recently coached the Portland Trail Blazers. He will be taking over the role left vacant by Kenny Atkinson as the top assistant.
Stackhouse, 49, is a two-time All-Star who retired from basketball in 2013 and turned to coaching. He will be filling the spot left open by Dejan Milojević’s passing in February. Kris Weems will remain on the front bench and take on the third assistant spot, while Bruce Fraser returns to his second bench position after three seasons there.
Stotts had a disagreement with Adrian Griffin while working as an assistant for the Milwaukee Bucks last season, which led to his resignation before the season began. However, both Stotts and Stackhouse have previous head coaching experience and are expected to strengthen the Warriors coaching staff for next season.
With this move, Kerr has created a more formidable coaching staff that should help lead the Warriors to success in their upcoming season.
