Hans K. Reisch has been appointed as the new CEO of Spar AG with immediate effect, succeeding Fritz Poppmeier who was forced to resign due to illness. The supervisory board of Spar Austria made this decision and appointed Reisch as the new head of the company.

Reisch, a grandson of Spar founder Hans F. Reisch, has spent his entire professional life within the company and has been a member of the board since 2001. He was previously deputy chairman and had already proven his leadership skills in this role for a year. In addition to Reisch, Markus Kaser, Paul Klotz, and Mag. Marcus Wild are also long-time Spar managers and have been on the board of directors since 2021.

The departments were partially redistributed in March 2023 but remain unchanged under the leadership of this proven management team. The supervisory board expressed its gratitude towards Fritz Poppmeier for his decades of commitment and dedication to the company, hoping he recovers well from his illness.
