New Era in Local Governance: McIntosh’s New Council Members Embrace Change

In the peaceful town of McIntosh, nestled between Gainesville and Ocala, a new era of local governance has dawned. With all council seats now filled, Mayor Marshall Roddy and council member Frank Ciotti eagerly awaited the arrival of newly appointed members. Following the resignation of four previous council members due to financial disclosure requirements, Gov. Ron DeSantis stepped in to make appointments on Friday.

Despite one appointee declining due to family commitments, William “Lee” Deaderick, Donald Medeiros, and Richard Talbert were warmly welcomed by the town. Medeiros, previously apprehensive about the financial disclosure process, found reassurance and support from his fellow council members.
