The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Hosts First-ever Regional Science Bowl

The Regional Science Bowl, which took place at Southeast New Mexico College, saw seven teams compete for a spot at a national academic science competition. The schools participating included Carlsbad High School, Carlsbad Early College, New Mexico Military Institute, and Hobbs High School. In the end, it was the New Mexico Military Institute team that emerged victorious. Comprised of two sophomores, a junior, and a senior, their exceptional knowledge in math and science helped them secure the No. 1 title and earn a spot at the upcoming national competition scheduled for April 25-29.

The competition was fierce as each team displayed their expertise in various scientific fields. Despite the challenges they faced, all teams put their best foot forward, making it an exciting event for both participants and spectators alike.
