New Record Set by Iolani Golf Star Jasmine Wong at HHSAA Girls Golf Championships

Jasmine Wong from Iolani School in Hawaii made history by winning the individual championship at the David S. Ishii/HHSAA girls golf championships. She shot an even par 72 to beat out Jessica Lee from Punahou by a single stroke, becoming the first player from her school to do so. Despite facing tough competition from five other players who shot par or better on the final day of the tournament, Wong held on to win even after making a bogey on the par-3 final hole.

Wong, a senior headed to Gonzaga in the fall, finished with an overall score of 146 and had previously won several HSJGA titles and ILH championships in 2024 and 2023. The Raiders had previously won a team title in 2012 but had never produced an individual champion before Wong’s victory.

Punahou, led by Nicole Ikeda who had the best score of the tournament with a 2-under 70, went on to win their 13th girls team title with a combined score of 13-over 445 over the two days. They were the only team to shoot below par on either day, finishing at 4-under on the final day. The team had three players (Lee, Ikeda, Sydney Fuke) finish in the top five. Mililani placed second with a score of 465, followed by Moanalua in third with a 478.
