Cheltenham secure deals for goalkeepers Evans and Day

Cheltenham Town has recruited goalkeepers Owen Evans and Joe Day to the squad as they prepare for the upcoming season in League Two. Evans, 27, is returning to the club after being released by Walsall, where he spent two seasons. He previously had a loan spell with Cheltenham in 2020, making 45 appearances before moving to Walsall.

In addition to Evans, Joe Day, 33, has joined the team from Newport as a player-coach. Flynn expressed his confidence in Day, referring to him as a “fantastic lad with a good temperament” and highlighting his goalkeeping skills. Day’s role at Cheltenham will be as a player-coach, a position he is comfortable with. Flynn believes that Day’s experience and abilities will make him a valuable addition to the squad. With Evans and Day now part of the team, Cheltenham Town is gearing up for the challenges that lie ahead in League Two.
