North Augusta Softball Earns Region 4-AAAA Title, Looks Ahead to Playoffs

North Augusta softball clinched the Region 4-AAAA title with a dominant 11-8 victory over Midland Valley. The team’s impressive 10-1 record in the region continued their streak of region championships and earned them a No. 1 seed, giving them the opportunity to host their first playoff game on March 30th. Despite a lackluster offensive performance in the second game of the series, North Augusta rebounded in the final game, scoring 11 runs on 13 hits. Pitcher LeAnn Gilbert played a pivotal role in the victory, pitching 6.1 innings with six strikeouts and four walks.

After winning against Airport earlier in the season, North Augusta regained momentum and secured another region championship against Midland Valley. Head coach Lindsey Jones emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and positivity during intense rival games, highlighting her team’s supportive dugout environment as a driving force behind their success.

As they head into the playoffs, facing opponents like Aiken, Lexington, and Chapin, North Augusta looks forward to hosting the fourth seed from Region 1-AAAA in the first round. Although the playoff bracket has yet to be released, North Augusta remains optimistic about their prospects and aims to carry their energy and teamwork into postseason action.
