Praytell appoints Sean Flynn from Ketchum as co-leader of sports practice

Praytell has appointed Sean Flynn as the Senior Vice President of its new sports practice in Austin, TX. In this new role, Flynn will report to CEO Andy Pray and work alongside SVP Stephanie Shambo to lead the practice, which currently consists of 10 staffers. This move signifies the agency’s investment in the sports sector, with Flynn emphasizing that any brand has the potential to be a “sports” brand. With the Summer Olympic Games in Paris approaching and other major events happening worldwide, there is a growing demand for sports expertise from clients. Flynn’s role will involve helping sports clients maximize their investments, identify new opportunities for brands, and expand the agency’s client base.

Having previously co-led Ketchum’s sports practice as SVP, Flynn brings a wealth of experience to Praytell. He has worked for various roles within the Omnicom Group firm since 2010 and briefly left to work on global consumer PR at Netflix from 2017 to 2018. In his new position, Flynn will also support the sports, gaming, and entertainment initiative of Praytell’s holding company Project. This initiative aims to bring together people from the network in a unified agency approach.

Praytell’s recent hire by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism as its U.S. PR and influencer AOR highlights the agency’s expanding client portfolio. Despite a slight decrease in revenue globally and in the U.S., according to PRWeek’s Agency Business Report 2024, Praytell remains focused on growth and diversification. With Flynn now at the helm of the sports practice, the agency is poised to make significant strides in the sports sector and beyond.

Flynn believes that every brand can become a “sports” brand by leveraging their unique strengths and values. He sees an opportunity for brands to connect with consumers through storytelling and authenticity, which are key elements of successful sports marketing campaigns.

With his extensive experience in both public relations and advertising, Flynn is confident that he can help Praytell clients achieve their goals while also driving growth for the agency.

In addition to his role at Praytell, Flynn continues to serve as EVP Global Head of Sports Communications at Omnicom Media Group’s BBDO Worldwide network.

Overall, Flynn’s appointment marks an exciting period for Praytell as it continues to expand its services and grow its client portfolio while staying focused on delivering exceptional results for its clients.
