The residency program for mental health nurse practitioners is designed to enhance clinical experience in managing mental health conditions affecting the Veteran population. The program aims to provide training in diagnostic, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy skills while also developing strong interprofessional collaboration and Veteran-centric care expertise.
The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System’s Mental Health APRN Residency is dedicated to preparing mental health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to deliver high-quality care for Veterans, including those in rural and underserved patient populations. This program focuses on providing a unique opportunity for nurses who are passionate about delivering quality care to Veterans.
