An iconic piece of rock and roll history has been discovered in an attic in the United Kingdom. The Framus 12-string Hootenanny guitar, famously used by John Lennon during studio sessions for the Beatles’ album ‘Help!’ and the film of the same name, has reappeared after being thought to be lost for over 50 years.
The guitar was once owned by musician Gordon Waller, who received it from Lennon in 1965. It was later passed on to his manager before disappearing into obscurity. Its recent discovery has sparked excitement among music enthusiasts and collectors alike, as it holds significant historical value.
The auction house, Julien’s Auctions, has decided to restore the guitar so that it can be played once again. The long-lost instrument is set to be auctioned off at the end of May, with an estimated price between $600,000 and $800,000. Fans are eagerly awaiting the auction to see who will be the lucky new owner of this iconic piece of rock and roll history.
