Liberty Hill ISD to Introduce New Science and Technology Materials for 2024-25 Academic Year

Liberty Hill ISD is set to revamp its science and technology classes for the upcoming school year. The Board of Trustees recently approved new instructional materials for various courses after a rigorous process that involved input from teachers and the community. The district will be introducing these new materials in classes ranging from kindergarten science to high school physics and chemistry.

The selected courses that will receive new instructional materials include kindergarten-fifth grade science, sixth-eighth grade science, biology, chemistry, environmental systems and more. The district will be utilizing $352,152 from its Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment to fund these materials. This decision was made after the Science Instructional Materials Selection Committee reviewed new materials adopted by the State Board of Education for the 2024-25 school year.

Community members had the opportunity to provide feedback on the new materials for kindergarten-12th grade science through events held in late January and an online forum. Nearly 30 elementary and middle school teachers also provided feedback on the new materials for K-8 science classes. The goal of this process was to ensure that the instructional materials selected are suitable and effective for the students and teachers in Liberty Hill ISD.
