In Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the heat was intensifying as the 10km run neared its end and Connor Bentley from Britain began to pull away from his rivals. Bentley, the 2022 U23 World Champion, delivered a stellar performance to claim the top spot on the World Cup podium for the first time. He left Yanis Seguin and Jonas Schomburg behind in second and third place respectively during the final lap of the race.
