The College Achieve Public Schools, located at 508 3rd Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey, has come under investigation due to the actions of a husband-and-wife team who run the school and have allegedly used a family-owned business to produce school apparel at taxpayer expense. This behavior is a direct violation of New Jersey school ethics laws, as found by an NJ Advance Media investigation conducted on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
According to sources familiar with the school’s operations, officials used another closed store as an intermediary to conceal the work being done by the family-owned business. Invoices obtained by NJ Advance Media show that purchases totaling $143,274 were made between December 2021 and January 2024 in this manner, raising concerns about the school’s financial practices.
