On April 24, criminal proceedings were initiated against a group of individuals who were responsible for disrupting traffic on the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway using burning tires. The incident occurred at 4:25 p.m. in the Masisi section, according to reports from the Investigative Committee.
The charges against these individuals fall under the category of group hooliganism (Article 297, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code). According to the committee, unidentified individuals moved Ford Tranzit, BMW X5, and Mercedes Benz cars to the lanes of the Yerevan-Yeraskh interstate highway and piled up numerous tires. These tires were then set on fire on one side towards Yeraskh and on the other side towards Yerevan, causing a disruption in traffic for a certain period of time.
The deliberate disruption of traffic with burning tires on a busy highway is a serious offense that requires swift action from law enforcement authorities to bring those responsible to justice. The police have been instructed to investigate and identify the individuals involved in this incident, locate them, and present them to the appropriate authorities for further action in legal proceedings.
