The 14th Shanghai University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition recently took place at Donghua University, with a student from the East China University of Science and Technology emerging as the winner among 358 programs representing 58 institutions and colleges. The competition featured five tracks focusing on technical innovation, future industries, and rural revival and modernization, with key issues including ecological civilization, green and low-carbon development, cultural creativity, regional trade and collaboration, social governance, and public services.
The competition began in May with over 68,000 students from 78 universities and vocational schools across Shanghai participating. A record number of over 25,000 programs were submitted for the competition. The contest was co-hosted by the Shanghai Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the city’s education, science and technology, human resources, and social security departments.
One postgraduate student named Zhong from Shanghai University of Engineering Science expressed his excitement about the competition. “This is an inspiring opportunity to demonstrate our skills,” he said. Zhong presented a hydrophobic aluminum film solution at the competition alongside two classmates.
The top teams from the competition will represent Shanghai at the national entrepreneurship competition to be held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province in September according to the youth league committee.
