OpenAI aims to have its video creation tool, Sora, producing films in Hollywood.

OpenAI, a leading AI company, has recently introduced Sorayour, an innovative tool that can generate high-quality videos from text descriptions. While this technology is not yet widely available, the company is aiming to collaborate with the Hollywood film industry to showcase its potential in upcoming productions.

As reported by Bloomberg, OpenAI will soon meet with major film and TV studios as well as other industry leaders to demonstrate the benefits of using Sora. This initiative is part of a larger plan to demonstrate the advantages of this application to the entertainment industry.

OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman has already expressed his interest in the film industry, attending events related to the 2024 Oscars. The company has also granted access to Sora for a select group of actors and directors who are currently working on projects related to visual effects and secondary filming processes.

While Sora and OpenAI are not looking to replace principal photography, they could potentially accelerate secondary filming processes and complement existing visual effects tools. The specific studios or executives attending the meetings with OpenAI have not been disclosed yet, and it remains unclear when this AI will be available or if there will be associated costs.
