Surge in Demand for Vehicle Repairs After Heavy Rainfall Strains Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman Workshops

Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman have experienced heavy rains in recent weeks, resulting in a surge in demand for vehicle repairs. The increased workload has put significant pressure on workshop owners, who are struggling to keep up with the rising demand. In comparison to normal conditions, demand for repairs has increased by up to 80%.

Workshop owners have reported delays of over 10 days for customers to receive their repaired vehicles due to the high volume of damaged cars needing repairs. Insurance companies are also contributing to the delays by requiring insured vehicle owners to wait up to two months for repairs at workshops contracted by insurers.

The director of RBM Vehicle Repair Garage, Raslan Muhammad Al-Salamat, highlighted common malfunctions seen in vehicles following the floods, including issues with the operating system, computers, engine, and gearbox. He stressed that the pressure on workshops is immense due to the large number of vehicles needing repairs and the rising costs of spare parts.

Othman Khan, director of Al-Andalus workshop, warned that flooded vehicles may suffer long-term damage even if repaired initially. He emphasized the need for all oils in flooded vehicles to be replaced to prevent future issues. Some vehicle owners are opting to pay for repairs themselves due to insurance companies imposing long wait times for repair services.

An electrical engineer specializing in computerized vehicle repairs explained that water damage can cause extensive issues with a vehicle’s systems. Demand for car computer repairs has surged by 80%, and prices of spare parts have skyrocketed. Customers are facing challenges in getting their vehicles repaired promptly and are frustrated with insurance companies’ lack of cooperation with repair workshops.

Overall, vehicle repair shops in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman are facing unprecedented challenges due to the recent floods. Workshop owners struggle to keep up with demand while customers experience delays in getting their vehicles repaired due to rising costs of spare parts and insurance companies’ requirements for waiting periods at contracted workshops.

In conclusion, this article highlights how extreme weather events like heavy rainfall can significantly impact vehicle repair shops and their customers alike. As such it is crucial that insurance companies cooperate better with workshop owners during emergency situations like these.
