Local business suffers major fire damage; owner determined to rebuild

A fire broke out at Tri-State Lawn Care in Flatwoods, Kentucky, a subsidiary of Tri-State Enterprise, on Tuesday afternoon. Owner Michael Wheeler watched in shock as decades of hard work disappeared in minutes. The blaze destroyed the business and left Wheeler struggling to process the event.

Wheeler described the feeling as numbness and disbelief. Despite the devastation, he expressed his determination to rebuild and emphasized the need to look towards the future and remain positive. With a long history of serving the community, Wheeler remains hopeful and focused on finding solutions to overcome the challenges ahead.

Fortunately, everyone inside Tri-State Lawn Care escaped unharmed. Flatwoods Fire Chief Brent Dean reported that three to four people were inside at the time of the fire outbreak on Argillite Road. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Wheeler acknowledged the support of the firefighters and the community throughout the years and expressed gratitude for their assistance during this difficult time. He remains optimistic about the future, emphasizing resilience and gratitude in the face of adversity.
