Gabrielle Cunningham, a varsity track athlete from Falconer/Cassadaga Valley, recently shone at the USATF Niagara Junior Olympics Track Championships held at Roberts Wesleyan University in Chili on June 22. Representing the Chautauqua Striders Track Club, Cunningham took part in the high jump, long jump, and 200 meters events. She set a personal best in the high jump with a leap of 1.27 meters and tied her personal best in the long jump with a distance of 4.06 meters. In addition to these impressive feats, she also achieved a time of 29.4 seconds in the 200 meters.
Cunningham’s exceptional performances across all three events earned her top-five finishes and secured her spot in the upcoming USATF Region 2 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships that will take place in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 12-14. With this achievement under her belt, Cunningham is now set to face off against some of the most talented athletes from across the region as she strives for further success in Jersey City.
