In late April, Lin Bin, co-founder of Xiaomi, shared his experience with Tesla’s full self-driving (FSD) software V12 on Chinese social media platform Weibo. He described the driving experience as very human-like and detailed the route taken, from a parking lot to the highway, merging into traffic and navigating through the city back to the starting point. He also highlighted that the software did not rely on high-precision maps or LIDAR technology but was based on pure visual modeling.

This week, Lin Bin posted a picture of a white Model Y on Weibo and stated that he had acquired the vehicle and was excited to test out the FSD software himself. The version 12 of FSD software is said to be ready for supervised use in left-hand drive countries, with right-hand drive countries expected to follow suit later on.
