Just before midnight in Schererville, Indiana, a sports bar named Longshots was the site of an incident that left three people injured. A patrolling officer observed a large crowd fleeing from the bar and a witness informed the officer that shots had been fired inside.

The Schererville police, along with neighboring law enforcement agencies, arrived at the scene and secured it. Three individuals were found with minor injuries caused by a ricocheting bullet fragment. They were treated by the Schererville Fire Department.
