TPG Returns to Talent Management: A Closer Look at Its New Venture

TPG, a private equity giant founded by David Bonderman, is set to re-enter the talent business with a new venture focused on acquiring, investing in and expanding a global business centered on talent management, representation and related verticals. With $224 billion under management, TPG has a wealth of options as it embarks on this new journey.

The first investment of the new company will be in Untitled Entertainment, a talent management firm led by Jason Weinberg and Stephanie Simon. The pair will remain as co-CEOs of Untitled and will roll a significant portion of their equity into the new venture, along with Boat Rocker, which is the majority owner of Untitled. This investment signals TPG’s commitment to supporting ambitious talent and their representatives in achieving their career goals.

Michel Pratte, the former President of Boat Rocker Media, has been appointed CEO of the new company. His experience in talent management and representation makes him an ideal choice to lead this new venture. Additionally, Eric Taitz, also a former executive at Boat Rocker Media, will serve as COO. Together with Pratte and Taitz, the team aims to create a talent representation company that benefits both managers and the talent they serve.

TPG aims to leverage its experience in the field to create a proactive strategies-driven talent representation company that empowers clients to achieve their highest career goals. The evolving entertainment industry presents new opportunities for ambitious talent and their representatives. According to Pratte, future representation requires access to innovative tools for growth. The new company aims to support Untitled Entertainment and other talent-centric businesses in scaling their operations while collaborating across various complementary talent verticals with subsequent investments.

In conclusion, TPG’s re-entry into the talent business is an exciting development for the entertainment industry. With its wealth of resources and experienced leadership team in place, TPG is well positioned to create a successful talent representation company that benefits both managers and clients alike.
