On Monday, Donald Trump’s campaign released a note from his doctor, Dr. Bruce Aronwald, stating that he is in excellent health and his cognitive exams were exceptional. This comes after Trump’s recent verbal slips brought his age to the forefront. Trump’s former personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, also released a similar letter in 2015.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently mentioned, “The presidency is not a job for somebody that is pushing 80,” comparing his own youth to both Trump and President Joe Biden, who turned 81 on Monday. This statement emphasizes the concerns about the ages of those seeking or currently holding the position.

Aronwald’s letter described Trump’s health as entirely positive but failed to include specifics such as the tests taken or the results. This letter contains quite general claims about Trump’s health, unlike medical statements about Trump’s health that were shared in the past, and omitted basic information such as his height and weight. During his tenure in the White House, Trump received a glowing bill of health by Dr. Ronny Jackson. Jackson, who is now a congressman and one of Trump’s staunchest supporters, praised Trump’s “good genes,” his “excellent” cardiac health, and how he did “exceedingly well” on his cognitive test. However, Aronwald also donated to Chris Christie’s 2015 presidential campaign
