TÜV SÜD Certifies Cosber Technology’s Smart H2 Energy Platform for Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Supply

Cosber Technology, a leading manufacturer of vehicle testing equipment, has received three certificates from TÜV SÜD for their innovative Smart H2 Energy Platform. In addition to their work in vehicle testing equipment, Cosber also focuses on developing sustainable and secure energy supplies using hydrogen.

One of their latest creations is the Smart H2 Energy Platform, which offers a comprehensive solution for self-sufficient energy supply using hydrogen for buildings. The key components of the platform are the Hydrogen Power Cubes (HPC), which consist of an AEM electrolyser, a hydrogen storage unit, a fuel cell power generation system, a power inverter system, and a heat exchange system. When combined with photovoltaic or wind energy systems, HPCs can meet all the energy needs of buildings using renewable energy and hydrogen.

TÜV SÜD Korea’s Head of Industry Service, Dr. Helge Knobbe, highlighted the challenges faced in certifying the HPCs due to their many components. The HPCs had to meet regulations such as the Machinery Directive 2023/1230, the Pressure Equipment Directive 2024/68/EU, and the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU for electromagnetic compatibility. After successful testing, TÜV SÜD presented Safety Risk Assessment Reports and certificates for the HPC-1000 Plus and HPC-3000 Plus to Cosber.

Cosber had proactively considered regulatory requirements during the development of the H2 Energy platform and the HPCs, making the certification process smoother and faster. TÜV SÜD supports the entire hydrogen value chain from production to application in various sectors with its expertise in hydrogen technologies. In conclusion, Cosber Technology’s Smart H2 Energy Platform has been certified by TÜV SÜD for its innovative approach to self-sufficient energy supply using hydrogen for buildings. With TÜV SÜD’s expertise in hydrogen technologies supporting this value chain from production to application in various sectors it is clear that this platform will have a significant impact on sustainable and secure energy supplies for future generations.
