TAMPERE, Finland — The United States beat the Czech Republic three- on Thursday to set up a semifinal game against Germany at the ice hockey planet championship.

Canada will face Latvia at Nokia Arena in the other semifinal Saturday.

The Americans earned their eighth straight victory.

“This was a difficult game and I am genuinely proud of our group and how we stuck to our game strategy,” U.S. head coach David Quinn mentioned. “There is a actual selflessness to our group and that is been evident from the outset.”
