Blinken faces issues with his Boeing jet, preventing him from taking off

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken faced issues with a Boeing jet while traveling in Europe for talks on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza. He and other State Department officials had to travel by car between Paris and Brussels after the Air Force C-40 jet, a modified version of the Boeing 737, developed unspecified problems.

This is not the first time Blinken has experienced issues with a Boeing plane during his travels. Earlier this year, a similar model of plane faced a critical failure due to an oxygen leak while returning from Switzerland. Boeing has been under increased scrutiny following incidents like a door plug blowing off a 737 Max on an Alaska Airlines flight, causing a hole in the side of the plane. This incident, along with other problems on subsequent flights, has raised questions about the quality and safety of Boeing jets.

Despite media coverage linking these incidents to Boeing’s practices, many experts believe that these issues occurred on older planes and may not necessarily be caused by anything Boeing did. However, investigations into Boeing’s practices have been launched in response to these incidents, further highlighting concerns about the company’s commercial jets. As such, Blinken can be seen as taking steps to ensure his safety while traveling abroad for important diplomatic talks.
