USC football experiences its third de-commitment of the month

A trend of de-commitments is not unfamiliar for USC football, with their high level of recruiting bringing in players with strong offer lists. As head coach Lincoln Riley leads the program, it’s expected that they will win many battles when it comes to keeping recruits.

In just nine days, three key de-commits have been announced: Isaiah Gibson, a five-star defensive lineman from Georgia; Justus Terry, another five-star defensive lineman from Georgia; and Hylton Stubbs, a highly ranked safety from Mandarin, Florida. All three were among the top 100 recruits in the nation according to 247Sports rankings (Gibson at No. 12, Terry at No. 17, and Stubbs at No. 99).

Despite these setbacks, USC currently has the No. 31 recruiting class in the nation. Their top commit, Julian Lewis, a five-star recruit and the No. 16 player in the nation, has generated interest from other top programs but recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong believes Lewis is likely to stick with his commitment to USC.

While these recent de-commitments are concerning for USC football fans and coaches alike, they remain optimistic about their future under Coach Riley’s leadership. With his track record of success in recruiting and his ability to keep key players committed to the program, USC remains confident that they will continue to attract top talent in future years.
