On Wednesday, West Branch emerged victorious over Minerva with a dominating 10-0 win at Carl Michael Field. The Warriors were led by third baseman Beau Alazaus, who had two hits and drove in four runs. In the fourth inning, he hit a two-run single and in the sixth, he hit a two-run double. Hunter Shields also contributed with two hits and three runs scored.

Senior Jaxon Robb made his return to the field after receiving medical clearance earlier in the day and went 2-for-2 with two runs. Anthony Perry earned the win on the mound for West Branch, pitching a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also helped his cause with a two-run single in the sixth inning.

West Branch scored single runs in the first three innings, with Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Charlie Biskup walking and eventually scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Biskup and Boston Mulinix both had two stolen bases in the game. Minerva’s Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 at the plate but took the loss on the mound, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits in three-plus innings.

The Warriors are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC. West Branch will face Marlington next Tuesday as they continue their quest for dominance on the diamond.
