Minnesota College Students Advocate for Economic Consideration in Gen Z Community

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, concerns about the economy are top of mind for voters of all ages. A recent survey by Tufts University revealed that cost of living and inflation are among the biggest issues for young people aged 18-34, including members of Generation Z and some millennials. With both campaigns gearing up, it’s interesting to see how young voters are considering the economy when making their voting choices.

Two young Gen Z voters, Will Pierce and Cory Hallada, recently shared their perspectives on the economy with MPR News. Pierce is a political science junior at Macalester College in St. Paul, while Hallada is a political science and economics junior at St. Olaf College in Northfield. Hearing from engaged young voters like these two is enlightening and gives us insight into how they are thinking about important issues like the economy.
