After 15 seasons, CBS has decided to cancel the daytime chatfest ‘The Talk’ and replace it with a new daytime soap opera called “The Gates.” The cancellation of the show has come as a surprise to many fans who have been following it for years.
In recent news, soap opera co-stars Jon Lindstrom and Cady McClain, who starred in the long-running soap opera “As The World Turns,” announced their divorce after 10 years of marriage. In a statement posted on Instagram, the pair explained that their goals have been taking them in different directions and they have decided to end their marriage. Despite the split, they emphasized that they remain friends and wish each other every happiness.
McClain, who played Rosanna Cabot on the soap opera, and Lindstrom, who portrayed Craig Montgomery, had a romantic wedding date on Valentine’s Day 2014. Both actors are keeping busy amid their personal lives, with Lindstrom promoting his debut fiction thriller and McClain working on various projects.
“As The World Turns” ended in 2010 and was later replaced by “The Talk” on CBS. Now, 14 years later, “The Talk” is coming to an end and CBS is working on a new soap opera called “The Gates” that will have a predominantly Black cast. The show will focus on the lives of a wealthy Black family living in a gated community, and it is expected to replace “The Talk” in its time slot if it moves forward.
