Free Health Screenings Offered at Black Wellness Family Expo in Arizona

The American Cancer Society reports that the Black community has the highest death rate and shortest survival for most types of cancer in the United States. This sobering statistic is prompting the Phoenix chapter of The Links, Incorporated to take action.

To educate people about their diagnosis and promote awareness of various health conditions, including breast and prostate cancer, kidney disease, and heart health, the chapter is hosting the Black Wellness Family Expo. The event will be held at South Mountain Community College, near 24th Street and Baseline Road on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. Free health screenings, mammograms, and car seat safety checks will be available at the event, along with access to health care information and services.

The expo aims to bring together families from all walks of life to learn more about their well-being. Participants can enjoy a free lunch while attending workshops on nutrition, stress management, and other topics related to their health. The event is open to everyone who wants to improve their physical and emotional well-being.

Registration for the Black Wellness Family Expo is now open on blackfamilywellnessexpo.org. If you’re interested in attending this unique event that aims to make a difference in our community’s lives, sign up today!
