Alkass, a renowned Qatari network celebrated for its comprehensive coverage of international and local sports events, is set to enhance its production capabilities by adopting EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution. The partnership between the two companies was announced at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. Under this agreement, Alkass will replace all legacy XT3 servers with the latest XT-VIA servers and incorporate IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems. The new system will be deployed across Alkass’ fleet of OB trucks in August.
The decision to upgrade to EVS XT-VIA servers and integrate IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems was jointly announced by both companies at NAB 2024. This cutting-edge solution promises support for all the latest formats and codecs, making Alkass future-ready and adaptable to their evolving needs. Operators will have instant access to network content, enabling them to navigate through live content seamlessly and create captivating replays and highlights of every captured moment. Moreover, the solution provides the option to incorporate XtraMotion, EVS’ AI-powered super slow-motion service, enhancing storytelling capabilities with super slow-motion replays.
Issa bin Abdullah Al Hitmi, General Manager at Alkass, expressed excitement about integrating EVS’ XT-VIA servers into their OB trucks after experiencing the benefits of EVS’ XS-VIA servers in their studio operations. He emphasized that this partnership was a crucial step forward in elevating production operations further.
