Waynesboro business rape suspect officially charged in assault of woman

A 44-year-old man named Jamie Chacon, from Petersburg, has been charged with rape and forcible sodomy of a woman at a Waynesboro business where she worked last summer. Chacon is also listed as being from Waynesboro by Middle River Regional Jail. The incident allegedly took place at the Eagle Game Room on West Main Street, which has since closed.

Chacon was initially charged with rape in September and has been in jail since then. Recently, he was indicted by the Waynesboro grand jury on two additional felony charges of forcible sodomy. He remains incarcerated at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona. A two-day jury trial at Waynesboro Circuit Court is scheduled to begin on September 17.
