Anti-Semitic sentiment took over the Labor Day protests in Leipzig this year, as dozens of protesters openly called for the destruction of Israel. The DGB boss explained that they did not want national or territorial flags at their demonstrations, as they wanted to focus on issues such as pay, free time and security for workers. However, this did not deter the anti-Semites from joining and making inflammatory statements that only added to the tensions surrounding Israel and Palestine.
